2020 Festival de Futuros: Student and Family Registration

BCTC Latinx and Immigrant Outreach and Services has been working hard this semester. You might have seen us at the Festival Latino in  September, at the African Youth Network Conference, high schools and Skills U centers all over the region, and events we have planned like the Bluegrass Cup Futsol Tournament, the BCTC Fall Global Learning Festival and our first annual Social Justice College Prep Academy. All this to say, our staff after much reflection and the support of our administration has decided to postpone this awesome event, the Festival de Futuros, until Saturday, January 25th.  The 3rd "Festival De Futuros" will support juniors and seniors in high school.  For juniors we will get started in the college application process and dual credit support early.  For seniors, we will support admissions processes, get a jump start on freshman year support such as early sign up for orientation and advising sessions, and supporting college scholarship applications for national, local and institutional scholarships.    The program will still be application drive and will focus on creating an atmosphere where students and families can take the first steps in making college a reality. We have space for 150 juniors and seniors in high school and GED recipients, and 100 spots for current students who need advising support. All students will receive support to apply to BCTC, complete their FAFSA and apply to scholarships open to Latinx, immigrant, refugee, DACA and undocumented youth. Transfer students will also be able to apply to another school of their choice without an application fee. The festival will provide children's activities and mini-series presentations for parents and students. Lunch will be provided to all students registered and food trucks will be on site so parents and siblings can purchase food from amazing local vendors from our community / nuestra comunidad.  Preguntas?
